CEO Fields Discusses EV Charging Impact on the Grid
The NY-BEST Annual Fall Energy Storage Technology and Innovation Conference, held on October 18th in Binghampton, brought together leading minds in energy storage technology and innovation. Sprocket Power CEO Maria Fields participated in a panel discussion entitled “EVs and the Grid: Opportunities, Challenges, and Pathways to Success” on the impact of EV charging on the already stressed electrical grid.

Fields emphasized the opportunity for commercial facilities planning to install EV chargers to control energy costs by adopting a range of available and proven technology. These approaches create benefits for the host facility and the NY Grid. A unique benefit of the NY utility cost structure is the opportunity for businesses to be compensated for their contribution to the grid through the VDER “Value Stack.” Collectively, Federal, State, and Utility programs create a strong investment case for technology adoption and can generate strong marketing opportunities for local businesses.
