At Empire Clean Cities’ 16th Annual Stakeholder Meeting, held this June in New York City, Sprocket Power CEO and Co-Founder Maria Fields participated in a featured panel titled “Innovations in Urban Goods Movement.”
The session, moderated by Matthew W. Daus of Windels Marx, brought together industry experts and public sector leaders including Empire Clean Cities, NYC DOT, Con Edison, and others to discuss freight innovation, clean last-mile delivery, and the infrastructure needed to support New York’s transition to sustainable urban logistics. Fields shared how smart microgrids, EV charging, and energy storage systems can help address both cost and resiliency challenges in dense urban areas, particularly as electrification of delivery and logistics fleets accelerates.
“We’re seeing a major shift in how cities manage freight and energy,” Fields said. “Smart infrastructure solutions that support vehicle electrification while protecting against energy volatility are essential. Microgrids and local energy systems give businesses the control and reliability they need to keep up with these changes.”
Sprocket Power is proud to have been part of such a timely and important discussion and looks forward to continued collaboration with Empire Clean Cities and fellow stakeholders.
