Sprocket Power is excited to announce that the NYC Accelerator program has named Sprocket Power an approved “Service Provider”. Service Providers are among a select few decarbonization specialists that can be referred to NYC building owners by the program to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions from their buildings.
NYC Accelerator is the City’s flagship program to catalyze carbon reduction projects for private buildings and lead a market transformation toward a clean energy economy.
It launched in 2015 as the NYC Retrofit Accelerator and then again in 2021 as NYC Accelerator, and has helped residential and commercial buildings reduce tens of thousands of metric tons of CO2 equivalent by providing resources, training, and one-on-one expert guidance to help building owners make energy improvements and access an array of incentives and financing available from various local programs.
Sprocket Power is bringing its proven track record of helping small to medium sized NYC businesses reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Sprocket Power’s experience will benefit NYC building owners, and in-turn, the entire NYC community by applying comprehensive solutions designed to help them achieve NYC’s Climate Mobilization Act (CMA) goals.
NYC’s CMA, specifically Local Law 97 (LL 97), requires most buildings over 25,000 square feet to meet greenhouse gas emissions limits by 2024, with stricter limits coming into effect in 2030. The goal of the CMA is to reduce the emissions produced by the City’s largest buildings 40 percent by 2030 and to carbon neutrality by 2050.
From planning, to permit, to installation, to filing and obtaining all available grants and tax credits, Sprocket Power creates strategies and solutions that incorporate EV charging, PV solar, BESS, and integrated microgrids to uniquely position building owners to serve their business needs as well as those of their customers and communities.
Because identifying trusted decarbonization specialists is a challenge for building owners, the NYC Accelerator program links building owners subject to LL 97 with vetted/approved Service Providers, like Sprocket Power, who specialize in implementing energy efficient improvements in buildings.
Any NYC building owner, whether subject to LL97 or not, can reach out to the NYC Accelerator at https://accelerator.nyc/contact for help finding the appropriate Service Provider, or they can contact Sprocket Power directly by emailing or calling CEO Maria Fields at (914) 646-4016, mfields@sprocketpower.com.
